The driving force behind the design was the owner's desire for a healthy and lively family environment. Wu's design approach was to create the best use comfort for functional spaces like bedrooms and bathrooms while eliminating the closedness of the space to create a lively and interesting family atmosphere.
The villa, with its back against the mountain and facing China's largest river, the Yangtze, uses the technique of four-dimensional decomposition to create a flexible flowing space. The designers created a large lawn and infinity pools to echo the beautiful river landscape under the mountain, perfectly integrating the environment, architecture, and people.
The design process involved meticulous attention to spatial structure, material application, line organization, and integration of space and nature. All public spaces are interconnected, with no clear dividing lines, creating a whole public space that flows naturally. The four bedrooms are placed on the edge of the overall public space, facing the river landscape to ensure privacy and comfort.
A combination of transparent and opaque materials creates a concise, natural, elegant, and bright space atmosphere. Almost all planes and facades are composed of pure vertical lines, interspersed with each other. A large number of squares and golden section rectangles are used for composition, which is full of fashionable and balanced aesthetic characteristics of neoplasticism.
All the interior floors facing the mountain are equipped with lighting patios, providing natural air circulation and good lighting for the interior. Glass is interwoven in the wall and the ground, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior. The large garden lawn allows people to get close to nature. The infinity swimming pool at the end of the lawn seems to be connected with the river at the foot of the mountain. Through the intimate interaction between interior and exterior, the environmental landscape becomes part of the living space.
The Riverview Villa is a shining example of Fan Wu's ability to merge architecture and nature in a harmonious blend, creating a living space that is both practical and interesting. The design's unique properties and innovative realization technology make it a standout in the field of interior design and architecture.
